New Carpentry Projects

Bespoke carpentry projects in Newton Abbot and South Devon. Custom shelving, fitted furniture, timber frames and more. 40 years’ experience. Free quotes.

This is the part of my work I enjoy the most — creating something new from scratch. There’s nothing quite like stepping back at the end of a job and seeing a beautiful piece of carpentry that wasn’t there before, knowing it’s going to be used and enjoyed for years to come.

With 40 years in the trade, I’ve built just about everything you can make from timber. Bespoke shelving units that fit perfectly into awkward alcoves. Fitted furniture designed around your room rather than the other way round. Staircases, doorframes, window frames, decking, pergolas, gates, fencing — you name it, I’ve probably built one.

What I really enjoy is sitting down with a customer, hearing what they’ve got in mind, and then working out the best way to make it happen. Sometimes people come to me with a very clear picture of what they want. Other times they’ve got a rough idea and just need someone to help shape it. Either way, I’m happy to talk it through and offer my honest advice on materials, design, and what’ll work best in your space.

Every piece I build is made to last. I use quality materials and proper joinery techniques — the kind of thing that comes from decades of experience rather than a quick online course. When I build something for your home, I want it to still be there doing its job in 20 years’ time.

If you’ve got an idea for a carpentry project, I’d love to hear about it. Give me a call or send me a message and we can have a chat about what you’re after. I’ll come out, take some measurements, and give you a clear, honest quote with no hidden surprises.
